It is said that Castile soap originated in Castile Spain over 500 years ago. The city had an abundance of olive oil that was used to create this high quality, cleansing yet gentle soap. To this day, Castile soap is one of the best natural and biodegradable soaps. It is great for body and hair, and gentle enough for babies. I make my Castile soap the same way with 100% olive oil and let it cure for 9 months to produce the best bar.
